Statue in homage to Toussaint Louverture in Bordeaux

In 2005, the Republic of Haiti donated a statue of Toussaint Louverture to the city of Bordeaux. The statue was made by the Haitian sculptor Ludovic Booz, and is located on the banks of the Garonne, on the other side of the quay from which slave ships departed between 1672 and 1837.
