The commemorative plaque in memory of the victims of the slave trade was installed on the 4th of May 2013 in the city of Trélazé (49), at the foot of the Palmier de la Dignité (Dignity Palm tree) in the park Jean-Guéguen. It was completed at the initiative of the Collectif pour la Commémoration de l'Abolition de l'Esclavage et de la Traite Négrière (CCAETN) (Collective for the Commemoration of the Abolition of Slavery and the Slave Trade) and with the support of the municipality of the city of Trélazé. The deputy mayor of the town, Marc Goua, and the President of CCAETN Lydie Greffier, were present for the inauguration of the plaque. It reads: " In memory of the crimes of slavery inflicted, for centuries, on the peoples of Africa and Madagascar. " "En souvenir des crimes d'esclavage infligés, pendant des siècles, aux peuples d'Afrique et de Madagascar."
