According to its website, Spectacle Urbain (previously known as Artpascon) moved to Nantes in the summer of 2000 and linked up with the Compagnie du Pont Neuf and association Marumba to put on a play called 'Un long silence' for the summer theatre festival in la Rochelle. On 10 May 2011, the association worked with Casa Africa Nantes and put on the play again.
The objective of Spectacle Urbain is to use theatre to mark commemorative dates relating to the granting of fundamental 'human and citizen rights' within Europe, including the Universal Declaration of Human and Citizen Rights, the Charter of Children’s Rights, the proclamation of the abolition of slavery, the armistice, etc.).
