Historical overview:
The Association Mémoires Ultramarines (A.M.U.) was created in 2008 and aims to establish a duty to remember for those who, named or not, have been victims of slavery. In 2009, the collective became an association and organised the first day of commemoration for the victims of colonial slavery with the help of its partners and the municipality of the town of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine.
