The association Ö MALOYA FESTIVAL was created in 2006. OMF aims to enhance the Creole culture of la réunion through storytelling, music and workshops on reflection, culinary art of la Réunion, and concerts.

Summary of objectives: 

In 2006, the objectives of O.M.F. are as follows:

  • To organize a major cultural event each year around the 10th of May, around the following themes: craftwork, folklore, customs, slavery in La Réunion
  • To contribute to various projects: the social and local development of the area of la Montagne; the development of the neighbourhoods in the field of health, education, work of prevention and integration; the development of civic-mindedness and community involvement; the development of arts and traditions; employability through work, education, leisure, sport, tourism ...; the promotion of the culture of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean area, in France, in Europe and abroad.

In 2009, O.M.F. added the following objective:

  • To animate the areas of ​​La Montagne and La Grande Chaloupe through cultural, sports and recreation activities, the promotion of the culture of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean area, in France, in Europe and abroad, the introduction of a festival, at least biennial.
